Graduate Medical Education
The Pediatric Residency Program includes 81 residents, and four chief residents, from over 40 different US medical schools. Over 200 residents from nearby university programs rotate through Children's each year in Surgery, Orthopedics, Dentistry, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine and Family Practice as well as Pediatrics.

Medical Student Program
Each year, Children's Hospital Oakland provides training in pediatrics to about 100 medical students from medical schools throughout the United States. We also serve as a core pediatric training site for 3rd year students from UCSF School of Medicine.

Psychology Training Programs (Internships and Fellowships)
Children's offers psychology training in five specialized mental health programs, serving children with a wide range of psychiatric, medical and developmental disorders.

Research seminars provide educational enrichment for scientists, physicians and the public. Seminars are held weekly at the Children's Hospital Oakland Research Institute's Little Theater.
