Children’s Hospital Oakland has both the largest pediatric inpatient Critical Care Unit and one of only two designated California Level 1 pediatric trauma centers in the region. Children's PICU is recognized for providing expert care for kids, 24/7.
The Trauma Care Center at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland is the Bay Area’s only State of California designated Level 1 trauma center designed exclusively for kids. Staffed with board-certified pediatric emergency medicine specialists, the Trauma Care Center provides immediate highly-specialized pediatric emergency services, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
