The 14-bed Day Hospital provides a warm and friendly environment where outpatients with chronic illness such as hemophilia, sickle cell disease and cancer can receive transfusion and infusion therapy. The Apheresis Program at the Day Hospital provides red blood cell exchanges for patients with sickle cell disease and stem cell collection for bone marrow transplant patients. Test dosing and tolerance testing for various drugs is also performed in the Day Hospital.
Portable entertainment centers for kids to enjoy while being treated, as well as visits from child life specialists and an artist-in-residence, help keep kids engaged.
