Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland is proud to be a nationally renowned teaching hospital. In addition to training resident physicians and fellows, we offer continuing medical education for attending physicians.
We also offer a weekly series of research seminars, and a program introducing underrepresented minority high school students to the health professions.
Residency Program
Children's Hospital & Research Center Oakland offers a three-year fully accredited post-graduate residency training program encompassing all aspects of pediatric medicine.
Our structured educational experience strikes the appropriate balance between clinical and didactic activities, educational and service needs, and inpatient and primary care experiences.

Continuing Medical Education
Our annual CME lecture series is the highlight of a program that also includes weekly grand rounds, four annual lectureships honoring former faculty, a yearly continuing education conference held in Monterey, Calif. and a regular series of Grand Rounds, Noon Conferences and Case Conferences.

Research seminars
Research seminars provide educational enrichment for scientists, physicians, the scientific community, and the public. Seminars are held weekly at the research institute's second-floor Little Theater.

Children's Hospital offers
psychology training in five specialized mental health programs, serving children with a wide range of psychiatric, medical and developmental disorders.
FACES program for high school students
This three-year internship program introduces underrepresented minority high school students to the health professions. Faces for the Future collaborates with local high schools, health academies, colleges, universities, medical schools and residency programs.
A summer medical academy open to all high school students is also available.
