Q: My child is bored. What activities are available?
• The fifth-floor playroom is filled with fun, safe activities.
• Creative art activities are available throughout the hospital for patients and for kid visitors, too.
• Check out the closed-circuit TV programming and videos in your child’s room.
• A special teen lounge and teen program are located on the fourth floor.
• There’s a playground and a butterfly garden to enjoy in the courtyard.

Q: What are the hospital visiting hours?
A: Parents and guardians are welcome at all times, day and night. Because space is limited, only one parent/guardian may spend the night in a child’s room. Friends and relatives, including brothers and sisters, may visit between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Q: Where can I go for additional medical information, takeout menus, etc?
A: Please stop by the Family Resource & Information Center located on the second floor across from the Friendly Café. Dial 3549 from the bedside phone for hours of operation.

Q: How can I tell who is in charge of my child’s care?
A: The names of your child’s caregivers are on the whiteboard in your child’s room. For more information about the health professionals here at Children’s turn to page 21 of the Family Handbook.

Q: Can I get discount parking?
A: Parking booklets can be purchased at the garage exit booth. Ten vouchers cost $50 and are good for a full day of parking.

Q: How are room assignments made?
A: Rooms are assigned based on gender, diagnosis, language, age etc. to try to get good “matches” for roommates.

Q: My child’s scheduled test was delayed. Why?
A: We’re sorry you were inconvenienced. We try hard to make sure that all appointments are kept on time, but the schedule can be disrupted when a very sick or injured child needs immediate attention.

Q: I have concerns about my child’s care. Who do I talk to?
A: Our priority is the best care for your child and the best experience for your family. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the nurse manager.
